bio

- born in Berlin - played at many jam sessions in Berlin and in various bands of different sizes and genres (Flintstones BigBand, Punkjazz-Band Die Nerven, Jazzduo w. Tina Wrase, Jazzrock/Fusion Bands, Jazzquintett Nowottny), studied jazz with Nick Katzman, Jörg Schippa, Walter Norris, David Friedman and others - graduated with a diploma in jazzguitar 1998 at the Hochschule für Musik/Köln (Cologne) - received grants for international jazz workshops (Siena Jazz/Italy, Banff Centre for the Arts/Canada) - freelancing in the broad field of jazz and improvised music in Cologne, Berlin and Munich- worked for the Saarlaendisches Staatstheater in 1998- moved back to Berlin in 1998, freelancing as sideman, leader and composer - winner of the Berlin Studio Award by the Berliner Senat 2004- received grant for a composer's residence in New York by the Berliner Senat 2006- played at german and international jazzfestivals - Jazzpodium Ruhr, Jazzfest Kassel, Berlin Jazzmeeting, Jazzfest Brandenburg, Theatre Festival Avignon/France 2001, Invitation by the Goethe Institut to Festival des Instruments a Cordes/Marocco 2005, New South Wales-Tour (AUS) w. Peter O'Mara Duo/Quartett 2007, 4-week- India-tour with Holger Jetter/Barbara Jungfer Project (a.o. Congo Square Jazz Fest/Kolkata, Indigo Jazz & Blues Festival Bangalore) 2009, JIM-Jazzfest Munich; 2010 Touring Europe with Canadian guitarist Margaret Stowe (Alto Adige Jazz Fest, Jazzrallye Luxembourg, Canal Street Jazzfest Arendal/NO) 2011 Europe Blues Train Festival Berlin/Prag w.
